Starting on Solid food...

It's about time Kingsley start on solid food as he seems very interested whenever we are eating. He will want to sit with us at the dining table and he will move his mouth and tougue as if he can taste. Heehee.

So during his last visit to the PD, we confirmed that the little boy can start on solid.
First on the menu - Sweet potato Puree.

Homemade Sweet Potato Puree
My first attempt using Philip Steam, flip and blend, the puree feels abit dry though, will add in some water the next round. It's quite tasty, I like it but not the kiddo. Haha... Perharps it's his first time tasting food besides his milk milk.

What is next on the menu??
Carrot, apple, pear.. ermm... Spoilt for choice...

Grow Grow GROW!!

Kingsley turned 4 months last Tuesday. And yes I am back to work, every weekday has become a hetic day for both Hubby and me. Luckily we had the help of my in laws to look after him when we are at work.

Development at end of his 3 months:

1) Able to flip over (Assisted)
2) Able to hold his neck while in sitting position

First time looking at things at a different angle with Mummy's help

I am ready for the JAB!!

He finally manage to be on all fours on his own at 4 months 5 days. So happy to see that, now he cant stop doing it - making us so busy having to watch over him.

I am so glad that I got him the Dwinguler playmat (highly recommend by our friend), There are no worries of him knocking his head on the floor while rolling over. And it is so convenient in cleaning when it is soiled by his saliva or puked milk (especially now he keeps drooling).

I finally made it!!!
First developmental milestone: 4 months 5 days (Flipping - one direction)

Sensitive skin like Mummy

The poor boy has been hit by rashes all over him. Initially there are a few patches on his face, it didnt occur to me that those are eczema. On Tuesday, we decided to bring him to the PD. The PD said that he has got sensitive skin like me. :(  He has to use special soap to bathe and after each bath we have to moisture him. I really hope he will grow out of it as he gets older. It is no joke to have eczema, it's super itchy.

For now hope the bumps and patches will disappear soon!!

Hit the Malls

Since the birth of Kingsley, we have been staying home most of the time as hubby fear that the little one may fall sick (with his poor immune system) Finally with him turning 3 months, we can visit the malls together. He always fell asleep when we are out, perharps the air con in the malls is real conducive for him to sleep.

One of the challenge we faced is locating the nursing room in the malls as my boy show zero patience when he is hungry. So far I love the nursing room at ION Orchard, the facilities in the room are beyond adequate. Some of the facilities includes:

1) Tower Fan to provide ventilation (good especially if you need to be in there for long to breastfeed)
2) Hot or cold water dispenser (can refill our bottles)
3) Warmer

I must say they had put in much thought when doing up the room.

2 Months going 3 Months...

Kingsley is going to be 3 months soon, though it feels like I just gave birth to him. How time flies, when one is occupied. He is growing and progressing well, I hope this will continue which means he will soon be able to reach his 1st baby milestone - flipping over frm back to tummy and vice versa. We have been giving him 10 mins tummy exercise regime everyday since 1 month to train him to lift his head and shoulder, this "mini push ups" will build up his arms muscle which is essential for the rolling over skill. But most of the time he fell asleep after 5 mins!

First 3 months Progress
1. Grown physically (Bigger and taller - a chance for me to revise his wardrobe)
2. Able to lift his head up and turn his head from side to side while on his tummy.
3. Responding (smile and mumble baby language) when we talk/play/flash cards to him.  He replies us in baby language when we talk to him. Pays attention when we flash him cards (no longer show the not interested face) He even smile/talk to the speaker and lights.
4. Showing signs of teething, soon he will be biting Sophie.

Happy to see him developing good, however this also means that my maternity leave is coming to an end real soon. I will no longer be able to be by his side everyday and be the first to discover his new found skills (not sure if this is a mother thing). I am so going to miss him, sometimes I do wish I am a full time mum rather than a full time working mum. If possible I would definitely want to take a few years off work to accompany my kids through their toddlerhood - to educate, play and learn with them. Well it is just a thought, a few more years to consider before realising it.

Sophie Giraffe

We bought Sophie Giraffe as Kingsley Children's Day present. I have read raves about this toy in the magazines. The giraffe is made of natural rubber and food paint so no worries for him to chew on to ease his sore gums during teething stage. The spots are painted in dark and contrasting colors that captures his attention.

He giggles everytime we squeeze the giraffe. Glad that he likes it.

1st Vaccination with Daddy and Mummy

Last Monday Kingsley had his first jab with us, we were wondering what would his reactions be. We thought he would cry and throw tantrum. But to our surprise he just let out a loud cry to indicate "Ouch!! Pain!! something just poked my butt cheek". My brave boy, keep it up!! There are more to go.
